Supporting VAHA helps keep hockey accessible for local families and keeps the Viroqua Community Arena operating for our players and community.
VAHA receives no tax funding or government support. With annual operating expenses exceeding $180,000, we rely on fundraising, donations, sponsorships, and the support of our members and community to keep registration fees affordable and our arena open and accessible.

Fun Night
Join us for an evening of fun while supporting VAHA! Fun Night brings our hockey community together while raising funds to support our players, programs, and arena
Annual Rummage Sale
Each year, VAHA holds two rummage sales featuring items donated by our members and community. Proceeds help support Thunder Hockey and the Viroqua Community Arena.

Each year VAHA hosts a golf outing. We don't care if you can golf or not, it's all for the kids!

Vernon County Fair Food Stand
Each year, VAHA families come together to operate our food stand at the Vernon County Fair.

Supporting VAHA goes far beyond our annual fundraising events. There are many ways for families, local businesses, and community members to support Thunder Hockey and the Viroqua Community Arena throughout the year. Whether you skate with us, rent the ice, sponsor arena signage, donate cans, or leave your mark with an engraved bleacher seat, every contribution helps us maintain our arena, support our programs, and keep hockey accessible for local families.
Open Skate
Come enjoy some time on the ice at our Open Skate sessions, perfect for families, friends, or anyone looking to glide and have fun.
- Cost $5
- Typically 2-hour sessions
- All ages welcome
- Bring your own skates or rent a pair for just $5
No hockey sticks or pucks allowed—just music, movement, and good times on the ice!

Ice Rental
Looking to rent the ice for a practice, game, or private skate?
Our rink is available for hourly rentals at $125 per hour. All skaters must wear a helmet while on the ice—no exceptions.
Great for:
- Team practices
- Private lessons
- Birthday skates or small group events
To reserve ice time, contact the area manager directly. Availability is limited, so book early!

Sign Boards
The Viroqua Area Hockey Association offers local businesses the chance to advertise with arena sign boards.
These prominently displayed signs help support youth hockey while providing valuable visibility during games and events. Annual sponsorship includes both exposure and community goodwill.

Got Cans? We’ll Take ’Em!
Help support VAHA by donating your aluminum cans! We have a collection bin located outside the rink for easy drop-off. Every can counts and helps us keep costs down while supporting our players.

Engraved Bleacher Seats
The Viroqua Area Hockey Association offers a fundraising opportunity through the sale of engraved bleacher seats for $100 each.
Donors can have an individual or family name permanently painted on a 17-inch seat in the arena bleachers—serving as a lasting show of support for the community and its hockey programs.
